There's steel inside. I guess it's supposed to help with over all weight reduction instead of having it made of pure steel or aluminum. Goofy but seems to hold up. Haven't really heard much pros or cons about it

Sad part is I bet it still outlast a new Chevy or Ford! 😂😂😂😂. I got a 2015 Ram 1500 with air ride. The air bags on the back too and bottom are plastic. Never had an issue with them. Plastic is pretty strong now days. I know most manufacturers since at least 1996 have used plastic intake manifolds.
