I had to sneak my dad's dogs ashes into his casket because apparently it's against the law in PA to bury someone with their pets ashes.😩

When my birth father died. I was the ONLY living FULL blooded relative left. When I called about information I was told “the FAMILY doesn’t want to include you.” I’m like “what family? His girlfriend? He has no family. I’m it. If you look on the cremation papers it’s MY signature.” I couldn’t for the LIFE of me understand what “family” they were speaking of. Now I DO have POA (my birth mother who’s still alive) because I’m autistic. Who did a lot of the speaking for me because there was some “legal” stuff that because I have a neurological condition (autism) she took over and signed for me. But the funeral company. SO EXTREMELY rude. As a matter of fact. They GAVE his ashes to his GIRLFRIEND. And did not allow me to give him a proper burial marker. Granted he was a HORRIBLE person and bad father. Yet.. still.. I was in shock of how disrespected I was.

You pay for a casket, it doesn’t get buried or burned, the funeral home will keep your money and resell the casket.

OMG I was told a specific casket was need to have my son cremated because it requires a specific wood. 🥺

and for cemeteries like corporation cemeteries if they tell you you have to buy a grave stone from them that is against the law they can not refuse a outside vender some do that because they just want money from you

NEVER TELL THEM YOUR LOVED ONE HAS INSURANCE. EVEN IF THEY ASK YOU. THEY WILL TAKE ALL YOUR MONEY. WAIT UNTIL THEY TELL YOU THE TOTAL THEN TELL THEM YOUR LOVED ONE HAS INSURANCE. They will take all your money

I had a funeral home insist that my mom be washed, prepared & viewed prior to sending her for cremation. She passed in a hospital & we said our goodbyes there.

I wanna know why I had to repurchase my plot when I placed my mine un the same plot as my dad. The plot holds 3 cremated vaults so with my cemetery the plot has to be bought 3 times.
