I've heard this story before, and it absolutely fascinates me. I don't know who he spoke to but it's very comforting to believe that perhaps someone reasonable and understanding might be there to guide us to whatever comes next

this story is wrong. Sam kinison was killed on searchlight highway in Nevada from between Laughlin and Henderson Nevada by a 17-year-old. he was not killed in California on the highway

Sam's brother Bill was on the scene, and he said Sam didn't emerge from fhe car on his own power. His neck was dislocated. Bill said Sam did say those words before he died.

It's ironic that he had a routine in his act about drunk driving and no other way to "...get the car back to the house...". Even more so, being known as a notorious party animal, after getting married he was on track towards sobriety... ....and ended up dying because of a drunk driver...
