@nothingsoffpod: She thought he was just using… until she walked in and saw the truth. The needles. The lies. This is where his journey into recovery began. #nothingsoffthetable #fypシ #sobertok #viralfyp #recoveryispossible #recoveroutloud #addiction #addictionrecovery #soberlife #recovery
My mom is an addict and I struggle with properly loving her. It’s complicated because her addiction didn’t just hurt me later in life, it nearly ended mine before it began
She was using while pregnant with me. I was born early, relapsed because of the drugs already in my system, died three times, and spent five months in the hospital. I’m a miracle
Someone once told me something about addiction that stuck with me forever
“That drug comes before anything, even me”
And it broke me but at the same time it helped me understand I didn’t lose her because I wasn’t enough. I lost her to something that doesn’t love anyone back
So I just wanna encourage everyone who’s navigating love grief and addiction in the same breath. You’re not alone. Your story matters. And your survival is proof that light still wins

What a touching story. The most powerful thing an addict can ever do is ask for help. Addict or anyone for that matter. Thanks for sharing a story of truth and hope ♥️

I have a really great non judgemental father and I told him after a year I started using heroin, it still took me over 20yrs to get clean. I still don't know why with all the treatment and counselling. I just liked using and the most unfortunate thing is I had the money to use. I've been clean for many years now and still have trouble but know I can't use again because I just feel more comfortable using. It's hard to explain because there's no reason for it except I just liked using.

I work at addiction treatment center. Trust me if you wouldn’t get help you will be dead by now. Nobody takes heroin anymore it’s all fentanyl. Congratulations on getting clean. Stay strong 🙂🙂🙂

The weight lifting off your shoulders is real. A lot of people don’t understand the work and lies to try to use successfully, but specially in a professional job/setting. I remember when I first told my mom and damn I did not realize I’d still be here fighting the fight. Don’t do drugs kids, not worth it.

When I was 11 I was babysitting my niece and nephew 1 and 3. A box of roses gets delivered for my BIL sister who was staying there. I opended it she wasn’t there. It was roses and needles in all the roses filled with H. I saod to my sister what is this? She lost her mind. His Sister never ever was allowed in the to home again she still isn’t clean from what I know . Imagine if I touched them or the babies. This was 32 years ago.

Reminds me when I figured out my brother was using. I tried to get him to stop, even begged but you eventually learn you can’t help someone who doesn’t want to. He came to me and I helped him get clean. He said his rock bottom was his sister having to do chest compressions, mouth to mouth, narcan on him. I’m just glad I was there because I wasn’t suppose to be.
