If it’s a Sam’s club or a Costco you are obligated by your membership contract to stop. Legally you don’t have to, but they have the right to terminate your membership if you don’t.

Sam’s club isn’t Walmart. Same company but one is membership driven. Yeah they check receipts like Costco.

you dont have to stop. it's more of a scare tactic then anything. lots of people see the line and just leave the stuff and leave. our employees love to make it fun so that way the line goes fast and everyone leaves with a smile on their face. it's not needed for our employees to look like the bad guy when its the company making them check. Just remember most employees really dont care they want to be safe and just get a paycheck. the employees that fight their just Karen's and take their job way to serious. its walmart who cares haha. 😍😂

never stop and show receipt. its not a membership you sign to do and there is no consistency on who they check. I can do self check out and not show receipt. I can go through a cashier and have them as for receipt. Just say no and keep walking.
