I will make a guess because I haven't read it--I think there's no need for them to call themselves a couple because honestly this name works more like a warning sign against betrayal "you can't date (or have a romantic relationship? or have s3x with? or love more? is it only about s3x or platonic betrayal too if one exists?) her because she has a boyfriend" "you can't date (same thing as previous bracket) him because you have a boyfriend" but there's no need for it because of course they wouldn't do it with someone else. They're so special for each other you just know they don't need that warning sign and they won't love platonically and romantically someone else more so who cares about naming their relationship. It's just a name that is useful among people. I guess in society you can't accuse someone of betraying you if you're not officially in a relationship, right or not? There are people who date a few persons at the same time because they are not in an official relationship. On the other hand, when someone leaves their friend and starts being friends with someone else, are we talking about platonic betrayal? Betraying someone's feelings? Idk I can be wrong or miss something

I replied this to someone but I want to comment it by itself too lol. To all the ppl that don’t understand, it’s about the veil between them, which is her lack of sight. This causes a power imbalance, meaning he could take advantage of or hurt her if he wanted. But he doesn’t. He cares for her, got her a job that accommodates her. Despite his attraction to her as well, he never acts on it, knowing that she is in a more vulnerable position than him. The veil gets thinner as he broadens her world and she is less sheltered (she grew up affluent with only sisters) and the love between them grows more pronounced.
