@type1amy: got a T1D Barbie doll! Representation really matters. I hope all the type 1 diabetic little girls in the world feel seen, represented and empowered at the same time, and that they accept diabetes. For many months at my diagnosis, I was in denial. I didn’t want others to think that I’m not normal, I felt ashamed. So I hide my diabetes, I injected insulin in the bathrooms. Thank you @barbie and @breakthrought1d for creating this Barbie doll to help us normalize type 1 diabetes. Because acceptance is truly the first step to manage your diabetes.
