Omg yes. If you do not fix this you will also continue to attract avoidant people as well.

This is partially true… but if you’re with an avoidant, they ARE the ones responsible for making you feel that way. But no, they cannot make you secure.

Hot take. The root of the problem for anxious attachment is control issues!

With how common ghosting people are these days, I think more and more people are anxiously attached. Imagine forming a bond with someone just to have it all disappear suddenly. And going through it multiple times..... it can make any secure person become anxious.

I feel like they should be able to make you secure in the relationship tho. Like not having wandering eyes. Making you feel loved and appreciated. Making sure they know you only have eyes for them. If you are still insecure in the relationship after that then yes it’s your own problem

I was an anxious attachment girl and my current boyfriend makes me feel so safe and secure without trying. It’s about finding the right person. I feel like if you’re constantly anxious when dating, they aren’t your person.

if they are doing something to trigger anxiety tho they’re definitely reasonable

Not exactly.. if someone loves you they should, to a reasonable extent be able to comfort your insecurities and make you feel secure. When you marry someone you marry them to be with them in their best and worst..

truest shit ever 👏also i’m a firm believer that you never know how much you truly like/love someone until you don’t NEED them, but you want them instead 🫶

instinctively, anxiously attachment is in a way putting your comfort and safe zone into something external. could be your partner, parents etc. putting that safety net into something you can’t control would create this unstable net for yourself.

I think you should specify that this is for people who are in relationships with people that are not CAUSING TRAUMA THAT LEAD TO THESE SYMPTOMS.

What if I’m working on self soothing but the things my partner is saying and doing is triggering and I’m communicating and being vulnerable, but my partner doesn’t try to understand or be there? At the end of the day, it should be a partnership. not asking anyone to fix all my anxiety, but at least be there.

But what if it is both? What if they give you a valid reason to feel bad, but you feel worse than a normal person would? What do you do then? How can you disentangle it?

How do you become secure and less dependent. I’m struggling so hard with it and I’m trying but I feel like nothing I’ve done is working

Yes! A good way to reframe this if you’re having trouble with this concept is flip it. Ask yourself how you would like it if your man put all his insecurities on you, and was needy and clingy and controlling and said you needed to accept his behavior

I’ve done this in my past 2 relationships and I expect them to fix my anxiety but again I end up disappointed and end up hating and resenting them . Don’t know how to work on myself either or where to even start since I have disregulated emotions and my negative mind wins everytime and everyday

i’m secure in myself in a way that i’ve never been before, but being in a long distance relationship really tests my anxious attachment bc of lack of control. not over her, just of situations and feelings that i can’t be there to fix.
