Genesight is a waste of money. It only tells you how you metabolize meds not how your actual genetics are. Get a real genome 30x test to get super accurate.

Psych NP here : ADHD is a deficiency in pre-synaptic dopamine - meaning you need a medication that either works directly on producing more dopamine (stimulants) or a medication that inhibits the reuptake of dopamine (NDRI norepinephrine dopamine reuptake inhibitor - aka strattera). However with my own research into Qelbree, the medication does not act on any process involving dopamine enough to even qualify for dopaminergic activity in classification - meaning Qelbree is simply a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (NRI - according to FDA classification) They market the crap out of SEROTONIN AND DOPAMINE yet work so minutely on those chemicals that they couldn’t prove activity enough for drug classification. I also not seen great success on the clinician side. Did your GeneSight not have Qelbree on it?

Qelbree was the last non-stim I tried before going to stims (I take Vyvanse like you used to lol) but I also have PMDD and felt HORRIBLE emotionally on like day 5 on Qelbree. Like 5x worse SI than I usually get with PMDD, and that’s saying something. And then that went away, but after taking it for a couple months, it didn’t work lol. I’m sorry you had an allergic reaction, but maybe it’s for the best! I hope another non-stim works for you!

I was on stimulants in high school and college, then went off for almost 15 years. When I started back it was at half the dosage and it has totally changed the ballgame for me. All the good and none of the bad that I experienced during the first 8ish years I was on it.

So same thing happened to me. My doc switched me from adderall>vyvance, also put me on an extremely low dose of propofol before bed time and my palpitations/BP decreased, other symptoms slowly disappeared
