I gave my kids phones when they started going places without a ride from me. The deal was, you want to keep your phone, you answer when I contact you (outside of school hours).

This is bullshit. Same reason you don’t let kids drive cars or drink before a certin age beacsue they aren’t there developmentally. We wouldn’t let them drive a car a 9 because they would listen to us better.

Yeah my son is 25 now, he got a phone at 16. Best decision I ever made. He had a computer and an iPad. He didn’t need a computer in his pocket at 12.
