As a woman with endometriosis the moment I was finally gived birth control that fully stopped my period I felt like a human for the first time in my life. My previous obgyn wanted me to go on pills that made me have period and I changed her to a new one that said I absolutely do not need to have a period especially with my endometriosis. She’s the best one I found 💜

I believe there hasnt been enough research into women's health to say menstrual suppression is fine

I have no idea why menstruation isn't suppressed for all women unless they're trying for a baby. Why are we forcing women? Seriously....tell your GP in the Uk you don't want a period and they'll not allow it.

I’m on progesterone I’ve not had a period in years and after years of heavy painful periods this is amazing

Best thing I ever did was stop my period. I’m so much happier without spending a week each month curled up in a ball in agony, throwing up and crying.

I started the pill at 21, I’m 37 and I only found out about this about 4 years ago. So many useless “fake” periods I could have avoided 😩

Must be nice. I tried various forms of birth control and bled 24/7 on all of them!

Ok hold on, how come there’s discrepancies between OB’s and general practitioners? If you tell a GP you’ve been on birth control that suppresses your period there’s a freak out

As a male you can’t tell me letting the body do something natural is worse then adding chemicals to it 🤔

Unfortunately, my uterus decides to open the floodgates every three months or so anyway, even though I take my pill daily without any pauze week 🙃

thankful for the depo shot. i haven’t had a period for 6 years. the hormones related to my period gave me s*icidal ideation worse then normal, bad cramps, extreme sleepiness, could barely walk. plus i’m autistic so the sensory issues with wearing pads was awful (my body doesn’t work with tampons).

Ugh, why do they even make/prescribe the 28-day pills then? There is no downside to not having a period and they’re still like, nah, we’re gonna make you still have one.

it really bugs me when people tell me it's unhealthy to 1. take hormones or 2. use BC to not have your period.

My family doc and a gynaecologist and a professor at a top Canadian university - she says the opposite. Maybe USA education vs Canadian education?
