I feel smart lol deaf people can't hear, they need sign language or other such accommodations like writing. a dang drive thru speaker can't do that 😂 the worker literally said that and gave the woman options

I once had a deaf customer in the drive-thru and I gave her a paper and pen to write down what she wanted and it was quick and easy, that's one way 🤷🏻♀️

Fast food worker, yes it’s much easier for employees when deaf people come inside. However with deaf people and hard of hearing, you still need to serve them in the drive through as it’s more convienent to them. It’s not that difficult to take an order at the window with a pen and paper. Simple accommodation 🤷♀️

drive thru is supposed to be for quick orders, we get graded on how fast we are & get in trouble if you take too long at a spot. unless you have an online order if you are deaf you need to come inside we cannot read off your phone or give you a paper and pen during a rush at the window

No because she was rude. It’s not about just asking her to come inside. She was rude in doing so. There were better ways to handle the situation.

Knowing you are deaf, you go through a drive thru instead of using the app or just going inside.. the average person doesn’t know sign language, hardly if ever needs to use it, and wouldn’t know you were deaf by appearance. Was the managers response extreme/rude , yes. Could have helped a diff way. But this was avoidable on both ends.

Ive had my deaf customers write out what they need since im not educated in sign language, its not hard to be accommodating.

Once had a deaf and mute person try to order in the drive through, they had someone else with them who refused to speak because they considered it disrespectful, I refused to take the order because I didn’t know sign language and they wouldn’t write it down and the other person wouldn’t tell me the order
