Wouldn’t this just make it harder to catch fish because they can’t see the food? Maybe smaller over longer period of time because eat less? Does dye just stay on top?

He got so much sun he darkened up? From my experience, fish I have catch in deeper water tend to be darker.

Your fish can get a little darker. I've noticed, but it's mostly because they're not getting so hot from the sun itself, they look healthier
