my partner and I volunteered on Thanksgiving day for 2600 total. then the flight got delayed so we asked to switch back to our original one and still got to keep the vouchers 🙈

I did it for a delta flight to Japan and ended up bumping 3 times for a total of $2600 and 3 nights in a hotel 😊 i just ended up telling family in Japan to just delay picking me up and it was like a treat at the end of a trip 🥰 highly reccomend!!

I will ALWAYS offer my seat for vouchers. Sometimes you can negotiate for a hotel room too.

My schedule is always too tight for this BUT I play this game with bags. I pack everything in carryons that I can technically bring on board, but they always offer to gate check to save overhead room. I'll drag my shit through the airport if it saves $50!

That’s what we used to do as a family growing up. Schedules early morning flights and always volunteer to be bumped. Still get where we wanted to go same day AND got free flights for next time.

They have to give you cash or a check for the amount. They can try the gift card thing but in the end they have to pay up. If you get stuck with Visa gift cards take them to Walmart. For like $2 or $3 they will “unload” them and give you the cash 😁

I used to work in an airport. I’ve seen them give plus $1000 a hotel and food vouchers and I believe they even paid for the ride to the hotel stick it out.
