@riannacarriere: My name is Rianna and this is my story. Two years ago I began to develop symptoms. It was mild numbness and tingling in my feet and toes but I didn’t think much of it. Slowly it started to become more intense and painful, so much so that it started to keep me awake at night. I was running off of 2-4 hours of sleep almost every night. I began seeing doctor after doctor and was met with the same response every time: everything looks normal. I was at the doctors multiple times a week. I went for multiple MRI’s, ultrasounds, bloodwork and more but still no one could figure out what was causing my pain. I was given nothing for pain management and was often dismissed or made to feel like I was crazy. I was often told that if I lost weight everything would just magically disappear and I tried but as I lost weight my pain continued to progress. Fast forward to today: I was recently able to receive a diagnosis of neuropathy and have started to take Gabapentin at night but this has not been a cure all. My mobility is compromised, I can barely walk some days. I am in a constant state of pain and yes, some days are better than others, but it is something that I constantly deal with. I created this account as a way to connect with other people suffering from chronic illness and share a bit about my experience as I try to figure out what could be causing my neuropathy.
