Therapist here. I believe that previous generations were taught to stay even when the marriage is awful. Even when the balance of power is terribly skewed. By leaving, you’re teaching your kids a valuable lesson. Focus on healing and co-parenting as best you can. You kids are resilient, and with good support, they’re going to be just fine. Divorce isn’t the end of the world. ❤️

This is absolutely right. This is my life, this is also how my kids are learning to not settle. Abuse in any form is absolutely unacceptable. My kids are happy, they are safe, they know I will protect them at all cost.
