in a past party, the barbarian of the group (the smartest barbarian I have ever had the joys of meeting) had found a drawing of a small child, drawn on the back was a couple of words reading "make it home safe dad." I have never seen a grown man cry before, and after that, the barbarian went on a whole side quest to find the little kid, adopt said kid, and protect the little guy the entire session. Long story short, The big bad was the guy who killed the kids original father, and the barbarian quite literally ripped the big bad apart.

Items from future events, past items you already used, convenient placements…you’ve been reincarnated? Looping timelines? Time travel? no joke this derailed the entire plot of out campaign when we found one of the bodies had a letter from his wife about the birth of their son, we spent 4 sessions racing back to civilization to revive him before the dm's imposed no revives after a year

My Paladin/cleric has psychometry (ya know that force power from Star Wars that lets a force yielding see the past of an object they’re holding) and he found an old children’s toy and saw over 600 years worth of children’s memories contained within the toy and now he carries it everywhere with him.

Reminded me of when my DM handed my character’s dogs collar to him ,the dog that was going with his older brother to the capital (Me and my dad made these characters together and we made our dog who sadly passed)
