TIPS FOR PARKING SPOT PAINTING: - if the previous design is caked on from years, you may want to sandblast the design off first. -if you use teal or blue for your background, primer is not needed. If your background color is darker than the previous design, it also does not need primer. -most schools require exterior latex water based paint. We like getting eggshell or satin. -this spot needed only 1 gallon for the background, that made 2 coats with about a quart leftover in the can. This can cost about $40 - you can use crayola chalk to draw your design onto your spot. The background took about 10 mins to dry. The sun and concrete dry the paint really quickly. - we recommend acrylic paint brushes and do not recommend foam brushes - your spot does not need a sealer because this will only be there for one year and you’re using house paint that is designed to last. - bring water and a towel for chalk mess ups - bring a tent for the day or paint in the evening. HIGHLY Recommend painting in the evening. It’s so much more enjoyable with the vibe of the sunset and everyone out there painting together. - bring music.
