If you want glasses and contact lenses, you need to go to an optical store and see an optician. Ophthalmologists and optometrists do not sell you frames and lenses nor make them.

You don’t ask an optom to do PRP laser or intravitreal injections for BRVO or AMD. Retina specialists don’t do refractions.

I’m an optometrist and I can’t tell you how many patients are outraged that their retina specialist wouldn’t renew their glasses or contact lens Rx 🤣 🤣they are super annoyed that they have to come see me🫣

not sure how you'll feel about this but ... people asking you for glasses is kinda like a person with a normal low risk pregnancy planning to have a skilled surgeon deliver their baby ... somehow we made a whole culture where this is the expectation? in this analogy you are the OB who can do a C section for when something went wrong and a midwife is the ophthalmologist for the glasses prescription 💓
