@keanu.visuals: Digital Map Selection Effect 🗺️ Here’s how I created that digital map swipe effect: 1. Shot a POV scene pretending to swipe through different maps. 2. 3D tracked the footage in After Effects → added a solid to check the track. 3. Once it looked solid, I placed elements in 3D space above the table — UI, overlays & some futuristic design that reacted to my choreography. 4. Used Polycam to search for cities I wanted to show → downloaded as .ply (Poly Splat) files. 5. To bring them into AE, I used the Gaussian Splatting plugin. 6. Created a solid → applied the Gaussian Splatting effect → dropped the .ply file into the comp. 7. In plugin settings: set model to “Model 1” and chose the file. 8. Created a null object to position & animate the splat model in 3D space. 9. Aligned the map with the table using the tracked solid’s position → adjusted rotation & placement. 10. Repeated the steps for all maps I wanted to swipe through. 11. For transitions: animated scale, shape size & noise shape size. 12. Final touches: tweaked blending modes, added a hologram effect — played with color, noise & displacement. Hope that helps — can’t wait to see what you create with it!🚀 #keanuvisuals #aftereffects #vfxbreakdown #gaussiansplatting #polycam #3dtracking #motiondesign #visualeffects #mapanimation #editingworkflow #filmmakingtips
