No it’s not about being in control of the volume it’s the fact that you can’t focus on multiple audio sources. In a restaurant you have people talking, music playing, chairs scraping against the floor, knives and forks clanking against plates and you can’t focus on the person speaking to you or even hear the thoughts in your own mind. It’s like a mental hell

The difficulty connecting with others is so emotionally exhausting and painful and lonely. I always wonder is it me? Is it them? And realize must be me because it’s been that way my entire life. I feel like I’m always invisible to ppl.
