@regulatedentrepreneur: Perfectionism isn’t about high standards. It’s about fear. Fear of being wrong. Fear of making a mistake. Fear that one misstep means you’ll be judged, punished, humiliated, or rejected. If your mistakes were constantly blown out of proportion growing up… If small errors led to big reactions, yelling, punishment, or withdrawal of love… Your nervous system learned that safety = getting it perfect. So now, as an adult, you triple-check everything. You delay launching the offer. You rewrite the post for the 10th time. You overwork, overprepare, and overthink… And you wonder why success feels so exhausting. But perfection isn’t protection. It’s a trauma response. If this hits deep…you’re not alone. We’re unpacking these patterns and rewiring the nervous system in the Procrastination 2 Profit Challenge. Drop PROFIT below and I’ll send you the details

That makes perfect sense actually why he does that to me now. He attributes my mistakes to my actual character and starts calling me out my name every time I make a mistake. To me it’s just a mistake but to him it’s who I am.

I feel like this was definitely me. But I can't remember most of my childhood. Only a few good memories are there, everything else before middle school (also being the same time period my high functioning mentally ill Bio-Dad was still around) is basically gone.

Nope not buying childhood trauma crap is the result of your personality now as an adult.. most adults couldn’t give you 5 memories good or bad as a child.. so no.. maybe it’s just that they like things to be orderly and done their way 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

That’s a pretty blanket statement that could be misleading for those who don’t understand psychology and didn’t grow up in that kind of an environment yet are that way due to other factors. I think we should stay away from making content like this honestly. There are too many impressionable people on these platforms that see stuff like this and absorb it as if it were factual when in reality it’s just someone’s opinion based on their own personal experience or interpretation of what they’ve "seen". That’s the frustrating yet beautiful thing about the human mind and psychology, not all traits, characteristics or behaviors are a side affect of one particular thing or experience(s). People need to understand that these generalizations are not a one size fits all and stop making content like this making it sound like it is, ESPECIALLY if aren’t accredited in the field of which you speak on! When you use definitve statements like “every single one” or “the _____” and “is” you are saying that THIS is why you are like THIS and that’s not true at all. This post is nothing more than a psychologically stereotypical opinion from a non clinical perspective that has no credibility. On that note, I’m out! ✌️
