The issue is that they want the husbands to allow them to disrespect the wife and/ or want the husbands to chastise their wives like they did back then, so they inflate situations and make up scenarios to justify their actions. Disrespect also isn’t just a new thing back in the day; it’s always been acceptable to disrespect people with no consequences. That happens now, so the phrase nowadays is a false imitation of what happened when the older generations were younger ; it’s always been a common occurrence that happens quite frequently. The older generations are just now catching up by no longer vibing with the old version of themselves.

it's because most people see disagreement as disrespectful. There are ways to disagree with someone and remain respectful. They don't understand you arnt saying no one can disagree with your wife, you are saying NO ONE CAN TREAT HER DISRESPECTFUL. You will not sit at a table with someone who does not have respect for your partner. which is how it is supposed to be.
