54. Let go after 13 years. Ageism is real as is gender and identity politics. I’m not doing it again. The whole 9-5 being miserable thing. Rather, in the process of opening my own small business with a lifelong friend. We aim to open in the spring. I check no one’s boxes and at this age, will be difficult to find a lucrative job that is in any way rewarding to me.

Yep. 50-53. Burned it all down, gave away everything I own and moved to the EU to re start and re build everything. It has been the hardest 3 years of my life but now I feel a zest for life that I haven’t had since I was 18

59 and going through the same exact thing. Laid off from corporate job, but honestly, the corporate BS and woke culture within it is more than I can take. I’ve been learning to day trade for the past 6 years. I’ll be working for myself now.

im 56 i realized this year I've been running from trauma my whole life. it affected my finances and relationships. I spent money having a fun easy life. now i must work. not sure what I will do

I’m 53 now and I have found that it is imperative for me to reinvent myself… I have worked in an industry that I am getting to old to keep up with the younger guys and with grey hair now not taken as seriously as it’s physically demanding.

yeah. I'm 71. can't even enjoy dessert anymore without feeling guilty. have more bad days than good. worst part is being invisible in society. I still have things I like to do. doing ok.
