A transgender person was brutally murdered in a rented room at a guesthouse in central Pattaya, Chonburi Province. The perpetrator, a 41-year-old Chinese man, committed the heinous act by slashing the victim's chest and removing the heart and lungs from the body. After the crime, he attempted to flee the country but was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi Airport. He will be brought back to Pattaya for prosecution. At 11:00 AM today (April 26), Pol. Col. Anek Sarathongyu, Superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station, along with Pol. Lt. Col. Arut Sapanon, Deputy Superintendent (Investigation), investigation officers, forensic officers from Chonburi Forensic Police Division 2, a medical examiner from Pattaya Patumkun Hospital, and rescue workers from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation, Pattaya, inspected the scene of a brutal murder at a guesthouse located in Soi Arunothai, Central Pattaya, Moo 9, Nongprue Subdistrict, Banglamung District, Chonburi Province. The incident occurred in room number 201, where the body of a transgender person (LGBTQ+) was found. The victim was identified as Mr. Woranan, 25 years old, from Nong Khai Province, who had undergone sex reassignment surgery. The body was found lying face-up in a pool of blood in the bathroom, with stab wounds from a sharp object from the middle of the chest down to the (sex reassigned) genitals. The knife wounds were deep, exposing internal organs. The heart had been removed and placed beside the body, and one lung was missing from the scene. According to the investigation, Ms. Nok (pseudonym), a 61-year-old housekeeper at the guesthouse, heard a violent argument in the room around 2:00 AM. The argument was between a Chinese man and the transgender person. She then heard cries for help and the sound of things being smashed before the noise subsided. In the morning, she went to check and found the deceased in the room. However, the Chinese man who had rented the room had fled. Ms. Da (pseudonym), 60 years old, the caretaker, revealed that the Chinese man was Mr. Tongyung Fu, 42 years old, who had checked into the room on April 25th for a one-week stay. CCTV footage showed the suspect leaving the apartment in the early morning with a suitcase. Pol. Col. Anek Sarathongyu stated that the police are investigating the connection between the deceased and the suspect, including whether they knew each other beforehand and whether the suspect had prepared any tools for the crime. They have also coordinated with the Immigration Bureau to check the suspect's entry and exit records and have requested an immediate arrest if he attempts to leave the country. It was later reported that the police arrested Mr. Tongyung Fu while he was preparing to leave the country at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
