If you didn’t put in on the resume, they’d find out on day 1 anyway since runners can’t stop talking about running.

If I were a CEO, I would hire all marathoner candidates. I think they have the best attitude, tenacious, professional...among other good qualities.

I’ve completed one marathon 19 years ago and 11 half-marathons since then. I’m now adding those to my resume.

“Marathon runner” shows so much on person if you truly knows what it takes to run a marathon. Running the actual marathon is nothing, it’s the prep, the training, the determination, the self control and motivation, showing up on days you don’t feel like it, working above and beyond your limits, proving to yourself that you are so much stronger than you think, staying consistent, etc etc I can go on for days. I am a proud soon to be marathon runner

If you’re interviewed by a runner, sure. I’m not a runner. I would not give it a second thought other than “that’s weird. What does that have to do with the price of tea in China”. But that’s just me 🤷♀️

Yea, it shows determination and dedication towards a goal that takes a long time to achieve. It just takes the right person looking at your resume to know what that means

Elevator pitches/resumes shouldn't have to be career only information. I put that I coach basketball because it shows leadership, connection to community, valuing my health, health promotion and practicing what I preach. I would 100% put it on there and you could list some of those transferable skills with it.

I have done multiple 1/2s and one complete. my feet crashed out and I haven't been able to run in two years. I want to run another one so bad. However, it might be seen as a risk lol

Had an instructor in veterinary school tell me to absolutely put that on my resume as an indication of my mental strength, dedication, overall example of my health (likely not missing work lol) 2x IM and marathoner here ❤️

Absolutely! I’ve completed 1 marathon, 30+ half marathons and 1 unbranded 70.3 triathlon. I’m now retired, but I sure would put it on my resume.

All marathon runners, no matter what pace, must have incredibly strong mental fortitude! I feel like walking home after running for 20 mins lol

I feel like the only people that can truly appreciate someone who has train for and run a marathon is someone that has done it themselves (and Ironman I assume but I haven’t done that myself)
