Vikings didn't braids their hair like this. They did actual Scandinavian braids (like fishbone braids, waterfall braids and more, tho they were often very simple and didn't take long to braid) elf locks which were caused by not brushing out tangles as it was seen as bad luck. Most of the time they just had their hair down or in a ponytail tho. Viking was also just a job where people went around and stole/bought or sold stuff, explored and found new places to live/colonised. (Coming from a swedish person who loves reading about their culture)
