@tofus_tanks: Replying to @thatoneantisocial Co2 is not really a fertilizer, but it does work a little but like fertilizer! I have a co2 kit here from @Fzone-US that I install in our previous video. You just need a diffuser and airline tubing to make this kit work. We saw this great planted tank with co2 at Bluewater Zoo in FL. #aquascape #plantedtank #fishtok

I only really disagree in the framing of what co2 is, technically it’s no different from nitrate or phosphat, since carbon is one of the most heavily used macronutrient, and both nitrate, phosphate and co2 are molecules of macronutients! It’s just the one which is usually the limiting factor in low tech aquariums. But otherwise good explanation! Something you could bring up in the future is you can still grow pretty much any plant if you balance yoy light and surface movemetn with your avalible co2! Here’s an example of one of my 2 low tech experiment tanks where I’m balancing my light with my low tech co2 ppm, kind of like how you balance your co2 with your light in high tech, you just need to swap the variable you are messing with! The main difficult ones in this twnk are Bylxa aubertii red, crypt flamingo pink, mytiophylium mattengrossa green and Erio vietnam. Soon I’ll be adding variegated Erio vietnam, bylxa japonica Recurvifolia, and the big one I was to grow for longer in low tech (I was only able to sustain it for 3 months last time but longer then anyone else that I know of) Hygrophilia chai! But that’s probably 2-3 months way after I’ve seen no co2 deficiency for a full month
