It's not shocking really, as much as Scotland is largely a progressive country there's still some really deep misogyny and racism running through the culture, not to mention the football based sectarianism. Years and Years of misogyny based criticisms of Sturgeon definitely normalised the above average abuse of women in Scottish politics

A lot of the strong women in these parties and in the trade union are subjected to indirect harassment! If they speak up they are a be itch or a lose cannon! Tbh we need more women who are not tied to a political party! Sad that nothing has changed men are still threatened in politics by strong women! 😢 unfortunately I am speaking from personal experience in my younger days!! X
