i think assuming df powers are linked to the body and not the soul is a big leap in logic. if the heart/soul rocks put in blackbeard via this surgery is the thing that allows blackbeard to have two powers. then it stands to reason that df powers are stored in the heart/soul. and so blackbeard should have the op op fruit

I love this theory although the only dent in it is something someone pointed out in Brodies video where Big Mom and Kaido then should’ve been more familiar with Laws fruit techniques if Xebec had the same fruit

My theory is that Devil Fruits take the place of an Organ. Which is why we see the Gum-Gum in place of Luffy's heart, and why BB didn't want people to see how he got White Beards fruit, cannibalism. And the OP-OP takes the place of the heart so one can perform their own immortality surgery and live by body theft, but it can also be done for other people. But Rox knew the power of the Yami and preferred that.

So like in the same way Imu used the fruit to get eternal life within Lilli's body? Or does the abyss and whatever that may be give him life? Or does the abyss amplify the immortality and makes Mu able to grant it to the gorosei and holy knights? Just speculating if Imu also had the Ope ope fruit.

The problem with your theory is that it relies on the fact that the info Law has regarding the Perennial Youth Operation is false, which I doubt it but it's a possibility, and in inconsistency of the fact that Teach (who you say is Xebec) asks if the Ope Ope can make him inmortal, while according to you he should know knowing because he has done it before as Xebec... And the obvious fact that Big Mom would've known Law's power and she wouldn't have struggled so much against him and Kidd...
