I recorded this video with the intention of replying to a young woman at a Bar in Temecula, who recorded herself asking where everyone is on a Saturday night. Before I could finish my video it had been taken down which is a shame because she asked it in earnest, even if the questions was misguided and out of touch it shouldn't have elicited a response that would make her take it down. what's crazy to me is when you suggest moving away from capitalism in any way, even minor changes many of the same people accuse you of having "lunatic" leftist ideas. So many people in the labor force have been conditioned to thinking that working well over 40 hours is not only normal but something to brag about. what throws me off is the estimate for 2025 entry to middle class is around 125k yet the poverty line is still at 30k. the bottom of middle class means sustainability, if you're below that # you're still technically impoverished. obviously based on locality, age, assets, etc. people that bought a house in 1992 saying 40k is poverty "becayse im fine with 40k" just means you already paid off your mortgage. and have drastically less income going straight into bills.

My dad worked a blue collar job and was able to support a family of 5, a house on 2 acres, 2 cars, and various pets. We definitely lived in scarcity but it was possible. I make 3.5x fed minimum wage and I'm not going to bars because groceries are basically a luxury.

Your video is great and it makes a great point. To drive that point further, the basic expectations that will be stripped soon are ones like: I expect to be able to exist in a public social space and not be discriminated against with threat of violence (ie an arm of any law enforcement agency) simply based on an opinion or thought I have about the government. In short, I expect to be able to exist in a public social setting without having my first amendment rights arbitrarily violated without access to due process. Sadly, I fear that is what is coming, as it has already happened in limited instances. It will not take much for more broad application of suppression of speech to begin.
