I think you should start the process now. Because ofc if the child has more expenses then it causes the payments to go up. Just make sure you bring all the receipts to court and all the times he missed payments bc I believe he has to pay that back to you, as well as how you budget or take care of his needs! And if he stops paying take him to court again..

You can always take him back to court but doesn’t necessarily mean they will increase your cs and also the judge usually order the other parent to help with 1/2 but again it doesn’t always go as planned.

Amiga my oldest had braces I paid over 5k I never got his dads half till this day and all 18yrs he would only pay $232 a month! Texas CS says you have to pay all the braces before you summit to get half back from the other parent 😔

I'm not sure how child support works in Texas but it usually goes off his gross income. they may higher it but if they do and he's been inconsistent with payment he might stop paying because it's higher payments.
