My driver literally said and in my defensive course that hand over hand is unsafe and shouldn’t be done.

In my state they’re having us do this like shuffle method instead of hand over hand. I hate it

Literally no one drives like this which is why it’s silly to make people do it for a test. If you’re in control and confident it should be perfectly fine and safe to slowly let the wheel return on its own maintaining both hands on the wheel still and a control slip back.

Can you let it slip back while still keeping enough of a grip to be able to easily move/hold the wheel? Sorry if that doesn’t make sense I’m newer to driving and that’s what my parents told me to do, helps a lot and I stay in a lot of control

Safest way is driving with one hand while eating French fries with the other and keep eyes on the road at all times 😏
