People ask me that all the time,should I cover it come winter time.? I tell them there's probably a million units on roofs all over New England, and their not covered. Do not cover you're unit.

25 year service tech, do not put any type of cover on your unit, it is built to handle the weather, so water and dirt getting in it doesn't effect the unit, but these restrict air causing high head pressures resulting in less efficiency.

I got two and had them on for 1 day. The upstairs split unit can’t keep up when I had it on. With it on, my temp jumped to 71 degree and when I took it off, it started cooling back to 68.
