This is a procedure sometimes done for babies , especially premature ones, who haven’t developed the suckling reflex yet, or to test their swallow reflex. But… it’s not being done properly in this video. The baby could accidentally ingest cotton. Even using gauze would’ve been a safer option if they had to do it this way.
