I agree advocacy is key. I will always answer questions. I recently had a revision surgery 3 years ago and I am finally getting a more comfortable leg this week!

someone once told me "think of the dumbest person you know, now make them even more dumb, that is the average person." and that makes me feel like someone 100% asked if the foot on your prosthetic leg was real.

I'm an amputee. I try to make it lighter when it is kids for sure. I recently had a 4 year old say you loss your foot and how they have two legs. I never care when people ask questions, but especially when kids ask i know they mean well and I was also young when I became an amputee. my injury was when I was 9 months old, but my amputee was when I was 4. I am a btk amputee (at about my tibfib)
