@attuned_therapy: This touches upon one of the core reasons why giftedness is not only not valued, but often intentionally shot down— for many people, when they can understand something they take it as a personal threat or offense. It’s coded as righteousness, arrogance or superiority. And don’t get me wrong, sometimes individuals within this group are arrogant or act superior and I can speak to that in a separate video. But many times, they’re simply putting feelers out there to connect to see: do you think the way I do? And when someone cannot comprehend what’s being stated, it gets coded as the other person being delusional, arrogant, or earlier in history “culty” or worse. —perhaps more awareness on how we as a society shut down ways of thinking that don’t make immediate sense to us is part of the solution. A lot of folks want more critical thinking… how we can all be more open to new ideas? #therapytiktok #therapistsontiktok #2e #gifted #giftedness #twiceexceptional #intelligence #neurodivergent #criticalthinking #criticalthinkingskills

I don’t feel I am wrong, I feel there is an unsatisfying and unstable connection to people who prematurely make choices without all the information. I am confident in my opinion because I go into depth. I’m still open, but at the same time it is difficult trying to have a conversation with people who don’t go into depth. Finding like minded people is so important.

How do you adapt to society if the style of thinking is not easily accepted

How does one find out if they are gifted? Like an adult who wasn’t labeled as gifted in school

What can we do when we can’t obtain or keep a job because so many people seem to find us and our ideas intolerable? Or that none of the gifted therapists are affordable if you don’t have a high-end job?

Yes! I understand this and have felt this way for a long time. I have a hard time putting myself out there because I think people may take me wrong or misunderstand my message or thoughts.

There is a protective mechanism is a gifted person taking on an “us vs. them” thought pattern. If they don’t they end up drowning in the judgement and ridicule by people who don’t give them the space in society to be themselves. That’s all it is. They aren’t better. And it’s the creation of a society that seeks approval and moral superiority that others gifted people. They are actually mirroring the subconscious of those who outcast them. Their peers are the ones thinking themselves inadequate and gifted people are taking that empathy on and some choose to place themselves higher and some choose to dim themselves to protect those around them from their inferiority complex. Gifted people are carrying burdens because we live in a society that energetically uses and enslaves people in all sorts of bizarre ways.

It feels like being neurodivergent. We are a small percentage of the population and no help.
