My dermatologist told me sunscreen is not to be rubbed in too much in the skin( meaning it doesn’t need to be absorbed in the skin)it’s suppose to be a rub a layer for 10seconds a bit and leave in to seat for 15-20 mins that’s how it protects not by being socked by the skin. She explained it as it’s a screen =shield so it should be on top not inside
