It’s pronounced “Clam-ath” — the Klamath River. My incredible niece was part of this historic journey, shes the 4th person in the all purple t- shirt towards the end of the video clip. I couldn’t be more proud of her & everyone who was apart of this historical journey.

The tribes that participated were the Klamath Tribes in Oregon and the Yurok, Karuk, and Hupa, etc tribes in Cali. The river connected the tribes all along the river from the upper Klamath basin all the way down to the mouth of the ocean. huge deal 🥰 thanks for sharing.

I'm a Karuk Tribal member & Ive lived on the river my entire life. My family & my people have been fighting for the removal of the dams for generations. Back in 02 I was 8 yrs old & I’ll never forget seeing and smelling all the dead Am’ma (Karuk word for salmon) along the banks of the river I can’t wait for the sediment to wash away & our beautiful river & am’ma return to the way she’s always meant to be.
