@mbari_news: One of our remotely operated vehicle (ROV) specialists wants to show you MBARI’s ROV Ventana!  Since 1988, this robotic submersible has logged the most science dives of any ROV worldwide. A team of pilots and scientists fly the submersible as we explore the waters down to 1,800 meters (a little more than one mile) below the surface. Ventana is equipped with special features like a studio-grade 4K camera, manipulator arms, an inertial navigation system, and so much more.  ROVS have been critical to MBARI’s mission, helping us answer fundamental questions about our ocean, how it sustains us, and how our actions may affect its future.
