@gladysrojo: My daughter, Xylena, is diagnosed with level 3 autism alongside global developmental delay and language impairment. She goes to a regular school here in the city 2 hours a day and 2 hours each week for occupational therapy. Autistic children like herself often hate loud noises due to sensory processing difficulties as their brains take time filtering out sounds that could be over-intensified. Disclaimer lang, she has been encouraged numerous times by the teacher to join but my daughter prefers to do away with the activity. Despite my daughter’s resistance to participate, this is one of the very few social events that my daughter has ever been to, thus, I still find it winning for her. She’s seeing kids, she’s making eye contact, and she’s learning. #autismawareness #autismacceptance
