I lost 6kgs and... I eat everything. I changed portion sizes and the only thing I try to eat less is fried stuff. But I still eat once a week fries or similar.

Potatoes are better than pasta or rice. Calories of potatoes will be the same (unless you cook it in a lot of oil) while pasta and rice calories need to be counted as cooked weight. 100g cooked pasta isn’t the same as 100g dry pasta. A lot of people don’t read the labels correctly and over eat their calories just because they measure out 150g dry and not cooked pasta.
