Easy. Your side of the story is recorded. Drive up, take video of the closed sign. Go to court, get it thrown out. It wastes everyone’s time because your explanation should have been enough for the cop, but if he wants to play stupid games, just take it to the judge. More than likely the judge is going to be pissed because this is a nothing stuff issue and a waste of the courts time. Especially if the story about the closed sign checks out.
