I totally understand this but what about all the children who grow into EDs, food issues and self esteem problems? Yes it’s vital to exercise and eat well but the pressure on young children can be extremely damaging.

I feed my children the best that I can but when you go into shops and see so much junk food for alot less than fruit and veg. You can see why this is happening.

it's a byproduct of austerity and the affordability of junk food like McDonald's etc. the party formally known as the labour party are insisting on continuing conservative policies won't help this one but

£40 per month council gym fees, £7 for a 50 min evening swim session. Go figure ! Went to local golf range last night with daughter. Cost us £25 quid, roller skating cost £15 per hour at local rink. Kids gymnastics £50 per month. Everything is so expensive for families

my son only does around an hour a week of pe at school. I'm fortunate to be able to pay for athletics club and he is in a football team where he trains twice a week and plays on a weekend....as well as paying for an after school football club. sport should be more accessible to all and it should definitely be taught more than an hour a week at school.

PE in primary schools is shocking, it is not taken seriously, teachers make them run around a huge field, not exciting! Engage in field games and athletics more!
