Spot on. I went to Oxford. On a FULL ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP. Then I went to Stanford. And yet felt so small and insignificant because of these loud af people full of - more than anything else - just sheer audacity. I’m working on it.

There’s an amazing book about this: Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain. Harvard Business School as an example of a culture that often favors extroversion. She highlights the potential for decisions to be made based on the confidence or assertiveness of the speaker, rather than the actual merit of their ideas. A great read and encouraging for introverts!
