Overlays are for irlen syndrome not dyslexia. Very often confused tho as 50% of people with dyslexia have irlen syndrome. I have irlens without having dyslexia and I use a yellow overlay.

I thought you were doing good without it, but with it you were much more clearly comprehending what you were reading as a string of words, rather than individual words.

With my dyslexia i can read that whole book fast, you ask me what i just read nope! I just cant keep knowledge it and i read some paragraphs 4 times because i repeat it 😭

Good on you for being brave and showing this. My husband has dyslexia and he says reading out loud is so daunting. I should get him to try the overlays.

as a fellow dyslexic girly. I hate reading out load. I sound just like this. I have had to get over my anxiety of reading out loud as I'm a teacher where I read children's books everyday 🤣
