I think he must love the space you’ve created. And he may not be able to afford to create that kind of a space for himself. I would take it as a compliment. However, some people do take advantage and since he hasn’t really engaged, I think he’s really just looking for a place away from home to hang.

This is the way. If you're not being disruptive, disrespectful, or causing problems, then absolutely come hang out! A "customer" being in the store who is comfortable there sets a vibe for other customers to be comfortable as well, and if they're comfortable they're more likely to purchase something; so having one or two people (genuinely) hanging out and not buying anything is actually likely to help sales rather than hinder.
