Colombia tarnished its name as an ivy when they started giving out degrees for whatever you want I dont think people will view it as an ivy in 10-15 yrs

learning things you dont necessarily care about can be handy in ways you wouldn't expect. learning to love learning about things you didn't think you cared about is a powerful change in mindset.

I hear you - but a degree from a good school is like a brand filter. Like Coca Cola - you know what you get from looking at label. Maybe a homemade cola tastes better - but how would I know? I’d have to try every flavor. 1/2

Truth. I will say at Princeton I can almost guarantee that everyone graduating can write reports EXTREMELY well due to the schooling. High level jobs know that.

So true. Self studying computer science because I acc love it, but people will look at me as less because I didn’t go to college, even though, kids at college are graduating CS programs not knowing how to code.

Im about to finish my degree in math and feel completely useless, not doing a phd but also cant code. I really started to enjoy quantitative finance after a stochastic class, but after that Ive been trying to do it all without having a clear roadmap. Any advice for books, programming, projects?

Man i cant tell you how much i love ur content. I personally wanna go back to school to persue CS as well as mathematics, etc. still its so annoying & sad that in school they will make you take classes that will do nothing to help you succeed but still expect you to work endlessly. Im just glad someone like you (especially from an ivy league school) can relate. I wouldnt dropout tho if i were you imo 🙏
