There's a reason why her voice broke down in the movie. It's GENUINELY hard to hit those high notes. I am certain, Celine may have pushed Rumi to great lengths to achieve this kind of ability. That's why in "What it sounds like" when she's singing, it sounds actually natural and magical because she's not being forced to sing out of her vocal range.

Rumi "losing her voice" is her losing the real version of it imo. She was getting more and more caught up with high and powerful notes (that catches people's hearts and impresses them) that she forgot her original voice is already powerful enough
