I’m in the middle of recovering from ECU subsheath reconstruction. Surgery was 5/11/2026. My sheath was completely torn. My ortho surgeon couldn’t repair it. It had to be reconstructed. Recovery has been hell.

I had ECU repair on both wrists I was born with a shallow groove on both sides and the ECU slipped out of place every time I twisted my wrist. It’s so undocumented and unknown about that I had both surgeries done in Minnesota and I’m in Florida right now hurt my wrist and mentioned the surgery and the doctor had no idea what I was talking about.

went through my second failed surgery in February for this reason on my left wrist. Just got out of my 6 week cast and now my doc is talking about taking the whole tendon out.

Bro I went undiagnosed for this for six months. Finally getting a consult with a hand specialist next Monday. Mines completely disconnected I think to just pops back and forth. This chronic pain is brutal

Did you heal without surgery? I just went 3 weeks in a splint and no dice. Doctor is suggesting surgery or 2 more months in the splint

Happy I found your post. Can’t find much online about this injury. Been immobilizing for 5 months to avoid surgery and just got out of my long arm cast. Did you end up needing surgery or did the casting work?

I’m in this situation now I also have kienbock disease had to two surgeries already so my issue came from previous wrist injuries I am trying to avoid reconstructive surgery so I am in a brace for 4 weeks
